Network Engineer 2
Providence is calling a Network Engineer 2, Communication Services Infrastructure to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing and implementing new technology within the local and wide area infrastructure for all data, voice and telephony services. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will:
Maintain standards, procedures and performance requirements for the enterprise infrastructure network environment.
Participate in evaluation of system designs, provides and implements recommendations to improve performance, productivity, functionality and decrease rework and duplication.
Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal training materials, establishes operational procedures and provides training.
Participate with writing, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and technologies (including firewalls) to ensure enterprise network security.
Coordinate the integrated systems integrity between users of Information Services and third party software vendors or programmers. Create and adheres to project schedules.
Participate in the design and review of new data, voice and/or telephony deployments. Define and implements strategies for integrating data, voice and telephony technologies.
Ability to effectively monitor, analyze and initiate corrective actions that insure network device reliability and data integrity.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience OR Associate's degree with 2 years experience OR Minimum 4 years IT experience.
Entry-level Cisco, and/or Juniper certification desired
Minimum of three (3) years of directly experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, with at least two (2) years of Cisco in a 24x7 environment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
ITIL certification
Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) experience or knowledge
