The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial concepts and accounting principles, with a focus on accounts payable processes.
This role will be responsible for accurately processing and recording vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments.
Duties:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding and approval through our accounting system portal - Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH or wire requests - Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies - Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records - Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable including credit card reconciliation - Maintain up to date Vendor Files with necessary compliances (W-9, COI's, Lien Releases, etc) - Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any payment or invoice issues - Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors, suppliers and sub-contractors - Handle vendor correspondence in a timely manner and assist with billing items - Perform general ledger reconciliation for accounts payable related accounts - Assist with technical accounting research and analysis as needed - Assist with annual reporting including unclaimed property, 1099's and any additional reporting as needed - Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions - Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently - Become an expert with the accounting system, currently Jonas Premier.
- Continue to develop procedures related to this position as the business changes, including actively participate in weekly meetings to discuss and develop the company - Assist in the accounting department as needed, performing various assigned tasks under the direction and supervision of the Business Manager.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related field - Experience with construction accounting and ERP background a plus - Strong knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles - Proficient in journal entry preparation and general ledger reconciliation - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks - Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Show proficiency in using accounting software systems, such as Premier or similar platforms SRI-Rochlin is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist who can oversee all aspects of the Accounts Payable process within a construction company.
SRI-Rochlin is a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor in Washington and Oregon that builds and renovates affordable housing properties.
The majority of our work focuses on substantial renovations of aging low-income tax credit properties for our partner - Shelter Resources Inc, a developer who has worked in the affordable housing industry for over 30 years.
We are proud to provide new builds and renovation for other clients and housing agencies within the affordable housing industry as well and mainly work on properties that are designated as senior housing, rural housing, low-income tax credit properties and/or work-force housing.
The work we do fulfills a critical need in these communities bringing more affordable units online in areas where it is lacking and by ensuring safe and affordable housing continues to be available.
Our renovations focus on life-safety upgrades, accessibility upgrades and improvements that impact useful life of properties, such as weatherization of building exteriors and new siding.
The person successful in this role will be someone who has a clear vision; is willing to work-hard to understand the nuisances of the business we do; and is comfortable in providing a customer service-based position within the company.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
