24 a year Position Overview:
The Onsite Program Promotion Specialist is responsible for implementing marketing, promotional outreach, and community relations to support the strategic Communications Plan of the SEIU Healthcare 1199NW Multi-Employer Training and Education Fund (Training Fund).
This position will report to the Director of Communications & Community Relations and is expected to work as an integral member of the Communications team, balancing independent initiative with department schedules and priorities.
This position plays a crucial role in overall marketing, communications, and site-based promotion of the Training Fund's programs and services.
In collaboration with the Director of Communications & Community Relations, core duties involve being an onsite representative for Training Fund's diverse members and stakeholders, and building awareness and interest in programs and benefits.
This requires demonstrated proficiency and experience in onsite promotion and message distribution, marketing, communication, relationship building, and outreach to people from diverse cultural, linguistic, racial and socio-economic backgrounds.
Location:
The position is defined as a field position:
employee works at assigned location (e.
g.
, partner locations and work sites) and in telework status to varying degrees, depending upon fieldwork and department needs.
This requires going to locations as needed to represent and promote the Training Fund, and will require field work, where the staff is expected to travel and meet with members and stakeholders at locations such as hospitals, public and community locations (e.
g.
, coffee shops), and partner organization sites locally and regionally (e.
g.
, Bellingham, Spokane etc.
), sometimes on short notice.
The position will also work from home and must be available to come to the Training Fund office for team gatherings and when otherwise needed.
Work Environment:
Work may be performed in a complex setting with diverse people and tasks.
Position will require local travel to employer sites and/or to meet with members in the community.
Our organizational efforts have us working with employees, hospital systems, and partners who have non-traditional work hours.
This means you may be required to attend meetings, meet with members or partners in the early morning, late evening, or weekends.
Travel to partner onsite locations locally and regionally (e.
g.
, Bellingham, Spokane etc.
), sometimes on short notice, may also be required.
Regular participation in meetings with Training Fund staff and/or other stakeholders is required.
Essential Job Functions:
Incumbent must have the skills, abilities and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Plans and conducts marketing and onsite promotion of Training Fund programs, benefits and services for in-person, on-site, and virtual events.
Connects with members at their worksite and/or other public spaces as needed to assess support needs, and primarily within timeframes that complement member schedules (within reason).
Promote awareness and engagement with members and other key stakeholders - including Labor/Management Partners, Colleges, and Community Based Organizations - about Training Fund programs, benefits, and opportunities through targeted and broad-based outreach opportunities.
Support the planning, logistical support, and implementation of important promotional events for the Training Fund and its Regional Education Navigators and Partner Liaisons (e.
g.
, workshops, symposia, info tables, etc.
).
This includes assistance with reserving venues, coordinating supplies and materials, arranging publicity, tracking attendees, and post-event follow-up communication.
Support peer member ambassador program implementation to improve site-based promotion & outreach about Training Fund programs and services.
Refers members to Intake Coordinator and Resource Specialists, Regional Education Navigators, and other programmatic staff when appropriate, with a warm handoff for in depth member education and career navigation services, such as career counseling, career planning and goals and identifying other programmatic services and/or resources.
Contribute to and update marketing & outreach performance database and dashboard tools, to monitor and track key performance metrics.
Take an active approach to problem solving and process improvement for site-based promotion performance, efficiency, and outcomes.
Establish work priorities in a highly organized manner while maintaining flexibility in scheduling and adhering to quality requirements, deadlines and deliverables.
Coordinates with Training Fund staff assigned to other programmatic areas to deliver programs and services, including assisting with the recruitment of eligible members.
Acts as an organizational representative in all situations, setting a strong example for other staff regarding professionalism, work expectations, and organizational commitment.
Provide back-up coverage for team members, as needed.
Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Communications & Community Relations.
Additional Job Functions:
Required to make presentations to members, partners, or other audiences.
Participates as member of a team that analyzes program performance, member experiences, and recommends procedures and new systems to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Required Skills and
Experience:
At least 2 years' experience in communications, marketing and onsite promotion - or equivalent lived experience related to job skills and duties - with a proven track record in promoting stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency with use of technology and data entry systems to regularly communicate, document and track member information.
Ability to engage and encourage potential members to enroll in education and training programs.
Exhibits keen attention to detail and possesses the ability to comprehend and retain and implement specific policy information.
Experience in a union or labor management environment or an understanding of unions and ability to work in a labor/management environment is a plus.
Experience working in an environment with multiple partners and stakeholders strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to independently exercise a high level of judgment, especially in organizationally complex settings.
Proven record of working collaboratively to meet performance goals.
Experience working with diverse populations and addressing their unique needs.
Flexibility regarding hours; some weekend and/or early/late hours will be occasionally required.
Excellent time management, organizational, and record keeping skills.

Preferred
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in adult education/training, community fieldwork, onsite marketing and promotion, sales, or workforce development.
Bilingual skills and intercultural communication aptitude strongly desired.
Knowledge and experience supporting working adults enrolled in higher education, career counseling and/or case management practices Experience in a union or labor management environment or an understanding of unions and ability to work in labor/management settings.
Experience with current organizational software:
Salesforce, Teams, Zoom, etc.
Zoom meeting support experience and/or foundational IT support and training experience.
Proven record of positive, collaborative contributions to meet performance goals.
Educational Requirements:
Associate's degree and three (3) plus years' experience required or equivalent lived experience related to job skills and duties.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent demonstrated experience) preferred.
Compensation:
Annual salary on a step scale:
$63,549.
