Demonstrates basic skills in keyboarding (30 wpm) and using a personal computer in current Windows.
Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form in English language.
Evidence of excellent communication skills both oral and written including the ability to spell accurately and write legibly.
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations and can spell and understand commonly used terms preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a reception role, or 1 year in a physician's office.
Previous experience in a medical record setting or medical office, preferred.

Unique Job Functions:
Telephone Management Demonstrates ability to successfully manage telephone interactions.
Utilizes appropriate tone, be pleasant and calm at all times.
Listens to information provided by the patient.
Documents per template requirements, gather pertinent information.
Navigate through multiple software systems successfully.
Coordinates communication and information with other departments.
Demonstrates effective telephone etiquette at all times.
Chart Assembly/Preparation Assembles charts for next day's case load.
Utilizes 2 patient identifiers in the labeling process of all paperwork.
Ensures all required documentation elements are present in either the paper documentation or the EMR.
This may include:
Scanning paperwork to the correct location in the EMR using 2 patient identifiers.
Obtaining any missing elements from the providers' office personnel.
Develops a tracking/communication tool to notify providers/nurses location of the required documents if requested.
Performs quality review to assure all documents are identified properly and attached to the correct patient.
Other Responds to patients' questions and investigates and communicates answers as appropriate.
Maintains neat and orderly work space.
Secures charts in locked location upon department closure.
Performs training as requested Provides suggestions regarding process or quality improvement opportunities Performs other job duties as assigned.
